Skin types

A quick update on skin types - which category do you fall into?

Skin type 1 - white or very pale, with this skin type, sunburn can happen with any level of exposure. If you fall into this category, you should not use a sunbed at all.

Skin type 2 pale with beige tint ,you are susceptible to sunburn, but you can develop a nice, healthy tan, too. We recommend shorter sessions to reduce the chances of over-exposure.

Skin type 3 beige to light brown ,you have the natural ability to absorb UV rays well,  We'll help you develop a satisfactory and safe tanning plan.

Skin type 4 light to moderate brown, Tans easily rarely burns.

Skin type 5 medium to dark brown Due to your skin's ability to withstand UV light, you will be able to have a slightly longer session.

skin type 6 dark brown to black . One of our staff members can offer you advice on the right amount of minutes for your session.

People on certain medication, that may cause photosensitivity or a history of skin cancer in the family are not to use sunbeds at all.

Must be 18 or over. ID may be required.

Tanning guidelines and tips

How frequently should I use a sunbed?
Ideally, leave a 24-48 hour break in between each session (especially for skin type 2).

How long do I spend in a single session?
It depends on your skin type - from as little as 4 minutes to 15 minutes. We'll help you come up with the ideal plan for your skin.

Is it safe even to tan at all?
Yes - a healthy tan, through moderate sun exposure, will offer some protection against UV rays, helping you to avoid sunburn.

Always apply a tanning cream
To prevent your skin from drying out failing to absorb the UV rays.

Got tattoos?
Wear protective cream and don't overdo it, as tattoos can fade with excess sun exposure.

It's best not to shower for at least 3 hours afterwards
You should also moisture your skin well, to maintain your tan.

You must wear protective goggles when tanning
Eye protection is essential. We will make sure to provide you with goggles before your session begins.

The benefits of stand-up booths

It's simply a matter of personal preference for some, but here's why we think stand-up booths are the solution for a fantastic tan:
Shorter session times - yes, you can nip in and out in half the time it takes to tan in a lie-down bed.
Not as enclosed - feel a little claustrophobic? Stand-up booths are your answer, as standing up makes you feel more "in control" of your surroundings and less "hemmed in".
Better body coverage - we'll have to put this one to our clientele, but many feel you get a more even tan, with a reduced chance of areas remaining paler than elsewhere.

The benefits of lie-down sunbeds

And what about the classic lie-down (or lay-down) sunbed? Here's what our clients love the most about them:

Relaxation - what is it you miss the most about soaking up the rays on a golden beach far away? The chance to relax and unwind, surely? Lie-down sunbeds offer you that in spades (though not literally, of course!)

Our sunbeds are immaculately cleaned after every use, to maintain the utmost levels of hygiene.
A lovely, friendly and professional salon. Simply the best salon in the local area. I would recommend without a doubt to anyone."
